Job description

Our client is a water and civil engineering contractor with many years’ experience delivering world class projects across the UK and they are currently looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer located in Euston.  

 

The main purpose of the role:  

Operate within the project environment to support the project team in the production, coordination, and submission, of Quality assurance deliverables.  

 

About the Role:  

Coordinate/monitor / support the project team in the production of Quality deliverables following Project & Management Systems to meet the time, quality and budgetary and health and safety targets. Ensure Quality Assurance activities applied are comprehensive, robust, in line with the project, and appropriately applied to the scalability, complexity, and levels of risk across the programme.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

- Assist the project team to ensure all site quality documentation is coordinated/maintained/recorded/and registered as necessary to ensure compliance with Company procedures and Contract Requirements.  

- Promote the reporting of non-conformances.  

- Assist the Assurance team, project, and site team to ensure the quality systems are being implemented across the project.  

- Provide support and input to the required reporting systems (BIM2Field, Yellow Jacket etc.)  

- Ensure management controls in place are being followed  

- Ensure visibility and traceability of documented evidence are monitored and maintained  

- Offer Quality guidance, direction, and instruction to the operational team to develop and improve their understanding of the Quality Management System  

- Gather information and feedback from the Project Teams to enable improvement  

- Promote a positive Quality Culture  

- Support the business to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and contract requirements.  

- Be a champion for the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.  

- Take a proactive role in QA deliverable planning, ensuring all hold points are mapped out and communicated.  

- Work closely with Technical Assurance Manager in achieving progressive assurance through the construction phase into the commissioning/ handover phases.  

- Work with Technical Assurance Manager to compile the commissioning and handover documentation in line with project and Utility Company requirements and contract requirements a champion for innovation  

 

Key measures & targets:  

- Minimal Non-Conformances’  

- Updating the BIM360 systems with current/updated IFC information

Requirements

The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:  

- Previous experience working in a similar Quality Coordinator role  

- Experience in delivering service improvements  

- Experience in implementing Quality Control  

- Innovation champion  

 

Skills and Qualifications:  

- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering  

- Strong interpersonal, organization, communication, and time management skills with a strategic and analytical outlook  

- Ability to confidently present analytical data and insights both visually and verbally  

- In-depth experience working with all Microsoft packages  

- Good social media skills with the ability to develop and update varied Social Media platforms  

 

Personal Qualities:  

- Good stakeholder management skills  

- Exceptional communication skills  

- Forward-thinking, positive, and empathetic  

 

Tickets/training/certs required:  

- Construction/ Civil Engineering Degree or similar level academic qualification  

- NEBOSH/SMSTS  

- Recognised Quality Management qualification  

 

Specific experience required:  

- Experienced in project engineering involving tunnelling and multi-utility packages within large civil engineering/infrastructure schemes, up to 5m in value.  

- Track record in coordinating and managing QA in large infrastructure projects.  

- Experience in managing QA through digital platform such as Fieldview, Field to BIM, BIM360, OREX etc.  

- Expert in developing and cultivating a collaborative working relationships with client and stakeholders.  

- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication qualities to manage engineering team in terms of project outputs as well as team and individual development.  

- Excellent engineering principles knowledge and setting out capability  

- Experience in root cause investigation and management of NCR process.  

- Knowledge of working to a high level of assurance in both design and construction, including all aspects of the life cycle of a national infrastructure construction project. Including Quality Assurance and Post Construction Work Package Plans and pre-construction stages.
