Job description
Our client is a major design, engineering and project management consultancy who has been rapidly growing within various sectors and who is looking for multiple experienced professionals to join them on permanent basis. This role is for a Consultant Hydroecologist and is located in their Derby, Glasgow, Peterborough, Epsom, Birmingham and Bristol Offices.
Job Description:
Joining a well-established and successful team, you will be pivotal in developing the application of habitat and biological response models to hydroecological investigation for their key water company and regulatory clients. You will also:
- support water resource investigations through the delivery of hydroecological assessments in collaboration with other companies specialists and multi-disciplinary teams.
- lead in the development and application of emerging approaches to hydroecological modelling and support the technical development of staff within their aquatic ecology team.
- undertake technical reporting for a wide range of projects and co-ordinating inputs.
- provide support to the national aquatic ecology team and wider business as to grow their hydroecological capability.
- support the team with winning work from internal and external clients.
Requirements
Ideally someone with experience of undertaking a range of hydroecological and environmental assessments with knowledge of programme, resource and financial management. A degree in a relevant discipline is essential and a post-graduate qualification desirable (with focus on Hydroecology / Water-Catchment Management), with ideally 5 year’s consultancy experience. You will need to demonstrate experience of delivering hydroecological assessments for the water resource / water management sectors and should have a proven ability to undertake a thorough technical investigation, that presents well-structured, concise evidence-based findings (verbal or written). In developing new models, the role requires someone highly numerate, literate and familiar with IT and software appropriate to the tasks undertaken (e.g. GIS, Excel, VBA, Python, Publisher).
You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and focussed on achieving and delivering technical excellence. Skilled at collaborative working, have good interpersonal skills, be a great communicator and be able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges and follow them through. In addition, you will need to be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges.
