Job description
Due to their business expansion, our construction client currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Project Manager. This role is located in Reading and has a competitive salary.
They have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team and contribute significantly to the successful delivery of multiple work package. As a key player in their organisation, you will be instrumental in ensuring the completion of designated project work in alignment with safety, technical, and legislative standards. The role involves adhering to program schedules, cost considerations, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved with…
- Manage all designated project work to ensure successful completion in accordance with safety, technical, and legislative policies.
- Execute project plans aligned with the proposed delivery strategy.
- Conduct site visits and participate in kick-off meetings for new works, aiding in their successful initiation.
- Demonstrate visual leadership, fostering collaborative behaviour, and maintaining proactive relationships with the Client.
Requirements
If you have substantial project management, demonstrating a proven track record in the successful delivery of construction projects. Additionally, a comprehensive understanding of managing design partners is crucial, coupled with a qualification in civil engineering. The candidate should also bring experience in effectively managing profit and loss (P&L) statements, showcasing financial acumen.
Proficiency in using MS Office is a prerequisite for the role, as well as advanced communication skills. The latter should encompass effective negotiation and persuasion techniques tailored to suit diverse audiences. A full, clean UK Driving licence is also a mandatory requirement.
Desirable experience for the candidate includes a background in the development of schemes from pre-construction to construction. Previous work experience with or for Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) is highly valued. Candidates with preferential experience working with SSE, knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRWSA), and a background in substation projects will be given special consideration. Additionally, familiarity with NEC 3 contract management is also required.
