Job description

Our client is a well-known water supply and sewerage utility company. They are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Construction / Water) located in Bath.  

This role will see you responsible as a valued member of the commercial team that supports their operational and construction teams in all aspects of pre and post contract duties. You will be required to produce cost value forecasts and reporting in addition to preparing and processing payments. You will also negotiate variations, applications and final accounts using the NEC suite of contracts, as well issuing and reviewing tenders against commercial deadlines, all across a portfolio of schemes that vary in scale, solution and location.

Requirements

In order to succeed in this role, you should have civil and process engineering experience in the construction industry, as well as operational technical awareness and experience of the NEC3 form of Contract. You should have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification/ relevant experience (five plus years). You should possess a strong attention to detail, self-motivation, a problem-solving nature and a drive to succeed. You should have experience in the financial management of medium to large civil engineering projects, and/or as well as high volume, relatively reduced scope element schemes.  

 

You will have good people skills, including leadership skills and the ability to foster professional relations with others. It is expected that you will have experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills. You will be a team player with a strong customer focus and sound knowledge of health and safety.  

 

You will need a full driving licence as this position will require travel between offices and sites.
