Job description

Our client is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies engaged in numerous high-profile projects, they currently have a requirement for a HSE Project Manager to join their team based in London or Epsom office.  

 

Job Description:  

 

- The role requires daily basis working direct on their Signalling projects, which include resignalling, minor works, such as Level Crossings.  

- The role requires supporting the Head of HSE and Project teams in embedding the 5 year Safety, Wellbeing & Environment & Sustainability Strategy and Plan requirements.  

- The successful applicant should be comfortable to travel as per client’s requirement covering mainly southern and western London regions. There may be some opportunities to support other business streams, as required and engagement with the client's Transportation HSE team.  

- Individuals applying for this role will need to work in line with project requirements, such as weekend and bank holiday working where applicable.  

 

Responsibilities:  

 

- To provide strong HSE representation for the client at project and construction HSE Meetings with their client, principal contractor, and their sub-contractors to ensure they are aware of future work activity so that risks can be identified, and safety control measures arranged.  

- To understand and ensure project teams and contractors are working under the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations, HSE legislation and Client Standards.  

- To deliver and develop toolbox talks, to enable the support or project stand ups. This includes ensuring suitable material and presentations are available for employee and contractors interaction.  

- To implement and maintain the content of the specific site project induction and HSE plans.  

- To carry out effective and timely investigation event reporting of injuries, incidents, and close calls, meeting the requirements of the client's standards.  

- Monitor PowerBI Dashboard Reports to ensure that Key Performance Targets are met.  

- And where necessary measures are implemented at project level to support maintaining statistics.  

- To plan and conduct effective audits, both internal and external, to ensure compliance with Project/Company policies, strategies, and procedures.  

- To be able to communicate an extensive knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS145001.  

- To support the development and review of HSE management systems and SharePoint sites.  

- Provide on-site coordination of our management systems and SharePoint sites and to provide advice, support, and guidance to the Project Management team.

Requirements

- NEBOSH Diploma (desirable)  

- NEBOSH Certificate (mandatory – construction desirable)  

- Chartered membership of IOSH (desirable)  

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.  

- Extensive knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS145001.  

- Experience of investigation techniques.  

- Experience of the development and monitoring of management systems.  

- Hold a formal Environmental qualification such as IEMA Certificate (desirable).  

- Awareness of Network Rail NR/L2/ENV015 Environmental & Social Standard (desirable).  

- Railway and Construction Industry experience preferable.  

- Capable of identifying HSE Improvement opportunities.  

- Awareness of behavioural safety programmes (desirable).
