Job description

This contract with our central government client is for a Field Engineer for 6 months. This is a Home Based role with travel to government sites around South West Region – (expenses payable for travel).  

 

As a Field Engineer you will carry out installations on Government and partner sites in collaboration with their Service Desk and other teams to troubleshoot, fix and swap out Network Devices, End User Computers and peripherals. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving common technical issues at Second/Third line level, as well as deploying equipment as new Partners come on board.  

 

As a Field Engineer you will be expected to be able to:  

 

• Install and upgrade equipment including network devices, desktops, peripherals and VCT builds  

• Diagnose and resolve incidents and problems  

• Provide second/third line support, covering installed networks, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals  

• Ensure configuration management information is maintained Update processes and training materials, as required  

• Work collaboratively with other teams across the Service Organisation  

 

This is a varied and demanding role for a competent and enthusiastic individual who would enjoy the challenge of working in a customer facing environment. Individuals will manage their own time as well as engaging with Partners to organise site access and work within fast paced and challenging environment.  

 

The successful candidate will be home based and will cover the South West of the UK, you may also be required to travel throughout the UK to other customer sites from time to time., This exciting and challenging role will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to work with leading edge technology with full access to training courses that are applicable
