Head of O&M - Biogas

Our client works in the Biogas / Bioenergy company that works in Europe and the are looking for a Head of Operations & Maintenance for their offices in Milan, Italy.  

Position: Head of O&M, Italy  

Reporting to the Country Manager the Head of O&M will be responsible for building and managing the territory structure for the Operation and Maintenance of the company's Biomethane Plants.  

This position requires exceptional strategic skills to develop and implement strategies, as well as the ability and willingness to perform practical day-to-day functions.  

Responsibilities:  

- Promote a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.  

- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for operations and maintenance to optimize efficiency and reliability of facilities, minimizing costs.  

- Build and Lead a team of professionals in monitoring daily operations, ensuring compliance with Environmental and Safety standards, and proper functioning of facilities.  

- Build and Lead a team of professionals for the research and contracting of the necessary Feedstock for plant operation and the proper agronomic management of digestate with organization and optimization of logistics.  

- Build and Lead a team to establish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance costs.  

- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to authorization requirements.  

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational challenges, promoting continuous improvement initiatives.  

- Manage budgets, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics to ensure cost efficiency and operational excellence.  

- Support the technical division in evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends to improve O&M practices.  

- Support the development division during evaluation and due diligence activities.  

- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers (technical and agricultural), negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.  

Requirements:  

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.  

- Proven experience in a senior O&M role in the Biogas/Biomethane sector.  

- In-depth knowledge of O&M best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.  

- In-depth knowledge of the agricultural sector.  

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.  

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.  

- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and international environment, adapting to evolving challenges.
