Job description

This contract with our Defence/Nuclear client is for a Senior Portfolio Analyst for 18 months in Aldermaston, Reading – 3 days per week minimum.  

 

Key Accountabilities:  

• Provides complex analysis of governance, reporting outputs and programmatic data to track key activities, plans, budgets, issues, and risks across all the organisation portfolios.  

• Analyses the portfolio to maintain a integrated view of the key risks and issues across the organisation Enterprise and recommends effective actions to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities.  

• Analyses and evaluates portfolio data to identify discrepancies, trends, exceptions, and opportunities.  

• Highlights interdependencies and conflicts between business as usual and the portfolio and recommends courses of remedial action.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Leads reporting from programmes and projects and provides analysis, insight, and recommendation of decisions for improved of performance of the portfolio.  

• Support the PMO Service Leads to communicate and build commitment to a shared vision and sense of purpose.  

• Recognise and track interdependencies across the organisation Enterprise.  

• Monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities) and escalate as appropriate.  

• Manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.  

• Using programmatic data develop predictive analytics to optimise project performance.

Requirements

• Strong stakeholder management levels at all levels – internal/external (written and verbal)  

• Power bi – development experience – minimum of a year  

• SharePoint – knowledge of SharePoint lists, how to put them together and how to manipulate them.  

• MS package – general knowledge and use  

 

• At least 1 -2 years development experience  

• Governmental organisation – highly desirable but not essential  

• No specific sector experience providing transferrable skills  

• Ability to work as part of a team.
