Our client is a major design, engineering and project management consultancy who has been rapidly growing within various sectors and who is looking for multiple experienced professionals to join them on permanent basis. This role is for a Data Analyst located in London, Aldershot, Birmingham, Bristol, Cheltenham, Manchester, potentially others. Flexible working.  

 

Job Description:  

 

This role is within the Applied Technology Practice which has an excellent record in consultancy and delivery to a wide range of clients and includes some of the largest public and private sector organisations in the UK, particularly in defence, security and government markets.  

The need to make data more accessible, actionable and clear to extract value from data as more of their clients look to enable efficiencies and more effective business processes. Applied Technology is currently looking for talented professionals who are experienced Data Analysts to work alongside a team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Geospatial consultants.  

The purpose of this role is to help teir clients understand and improve their business performance using data-driven approaches. Successful candidates will be providing expertise in the design and application of data analytics solutions for a variety of clients and sectors.  

 

You will be a part of a growing, multidisciplinary team who is well-established in the space of data consulting services. In your role you will:  

 

- Work with clients to integrate these best practices into their processes and decision-making.  

- Handle, merge, and clean multi-source data so they can be further analysed.  

- Effectively apply a variety of data visualisation techniques to bring to life business problems.  

- Collaborating with teams of technical and non-technical users of various experience levels.  

- Contribute to decision-making that will lead to successful delivery of projects.  

- Be responsible for expanding your visualisation skills through appropriate training and mentorship.  

- Participate in external activities related to own specialism such as client engagement, conferences, and research pa

Requirements

- Experience with working in a project environment, including requirements gathering with business users and different cycles of testing, e.g. system testing, unit testing and integration testing.  

- Experience with data transformation and modelling tools e.g. Python, SQL, NoSQL, Azure Data Factory, Power Query.  

- Experience in using data visualisation tools, preferably using Microsoft Power BI (alternatively- Tableau, Qlik, Looker).  

- Proven track record of owning the end-to-end roadmap for data analytics solutions including training and handover documentation.  

- Experience working in an agile project environment.  

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

 

Desirable:  

 

- Experience working with different data types, e.g. weblogs, security, networking, AI and Big Data.  

- Experience in creating/ adapting visualisations.  

- Experience in implementing cloud native analytics solutions at scale.  

- Appreciation of UI tools & techniques.  

- Experience in Defence, Government, Security and Intelligence or similar sectors.  

- Microsoft certification.
