Job description

Our client is a major engineering, management, and development consultancy. They are currently on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham.  

 

Overview of role:  

As a Quantity Surveyor you will manage your own projects or workstreams on major Transportation projects. This opportunity will enable you to support the development of this growing and diverse business whilst progressing your own career. The focus of this exciting new role and opportunity is to help build the growing business and to support their clients by winning and delivering high quality project and programme management services that contribute to society and make the communities in which they live and work better.  

 

You will have opportunities to work on some of the UK’s largest Transportation projects, working with key clients and with experts from across the company and the industry. You will be working on some areas like Rail, Highways, Ports and Local Auhtority.  

 

Main Duties:  

Responsible for commercially managing a project or multiple projects, including:  

- Budget management including month end reporting (actuals, monthly variances, accruals and annual variances).  

- Risk management and reporting  

- Dispute resolution / avoidance  

- Offering commercial strategy advice  

- Review and recommendation of subcontractor acceptance  

- Assessment of compensation events  

- Assessment of monthly payment applications  

- Commercial audits
