Job description

Our client is a water and civil engineering contractor with many years’ experience delivering world class projects across the UK and they are currently looking to recruit a Site Supervisor from a Clean Water / Heavy Civils background located in Ipswich on a 12 months contract basis.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

- Leading the client's teams towards safety, quality, and project targets consistently, you’ll be a vital link between the Site Managers and site operatives by ensuring key messages are appropriately conveyed.  

- Always working with transparency and integrity, you’ll lead by example and provide your teams with the exposure and opportunity to flourish whilst ensuring they strive towards the outperformance targets.  

- Ensure work carried out meets the project and statutory legal requirements via a range of activities including site inspections, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, and delivering toolbox talks.  

- Ensure site personnel have relevant training and plant equipment/ machinery are in good working order with in-date certificates.  

- Communicate with site team members on upcoming activities ensuring all requirements are met minimising any delays to production.  

- Oversee temporary works ensuring work is installed as per the design and the Site Manager is kept updated accordingly.  

- Encourage and promote near-miss reporting ensuring close-outs are delivered and fed back to the site manager and operatives.  

- Champion a ‘Get it right first-time mentality; Check the quality of finished products delivered by teams ensuring the product is completed to a high standard.  

- Schedule, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.  

- Order and manage hired internal and external equipment daily to optimise performance and reduce costs.  

Requirements

- NVQ 3, SSSTS, NRSWA, NWH  

- Clean water, Heavy civils, working with plant, groundworks, planning
