Job description

Our client is a major contractor that works in the water market across the UK and Middle East, due to project requirement they are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer join their team.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

- Mechanical design development and civil interface details from the client’s preliminary outcome requirement to completion of installation on site.  

- Mechanical design duties including - P&ID development, HAZOP, Hazards in construction and design risk assessment, development of mechanical and civil design drawings.  

- Management of subcontractor work packages including - Producing technical input into tender and subcontract paperwork, pre-start subcontractor meetings and outlining expectations, assessment of subcontractor stage payments, documentation requirements and deliverables, management of variation orders, non-compliances and defects.  

- Programme management and site work including - Completion of technical governance gate paperwork, assessment of programmed tasks and evaluation of forecast to completion, site management, mechanical isolation, approval of mechanical RAMS and mechanical test and inspection sign off.

Requirements

• HNC or higher within Mechanical Engineering discipline  

• Design of wastewater M&E assets e.g. Pumping Stations, CSO`s & associated civil structures etc  

• Equipment sizing & selection (pumps, mixers, pipework etc)  

• Champions Sustainability Safety, Health and Environment by putting personal safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything and helping the environment and communities to thrive  

• Having integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way  

• Must be customer focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating and meeting their needs
