Job description

Our client is an engineering design consultancy that works in the water sector. They are on several water frameworks across the UK and are looking to recruit a Flood Risk Engineer to join their friendly and talented multi-disciplinary water team. for their Southampton location.  

You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance. You will be involved with delivering studies, investigations, optioneering, scheme and detailed design projects across our client frameworks.  

Typical day to day tasks include, but are not limited to: supporting a diverse range of colleagues in specialisms from river and coastal engineering to landscape architects, environmental specialists and planners; undertaking feasibility studies and preparing technical reports; creating and implementing digital solutions; reporting on large and complex datasets; carrying out assessment, analysis and design; preparing specifications and using a wide range of specialist analysis and design software such as GIS and AutoCAD etc. 

Requirements

- Have a Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)  

- Have recently achieved or working towards Chartership of relevant Professional Institution (eg ICE, CIWEM etc)  

- Have experience within the UK Water Industry, ideally in flood risk management  

- Are highly motivated, proactive, team-worker, willing to take on new challenges and produce high quality work  

- Have strong digital skills  

- This role will be based out of our Southampton / Winchester office but we are open to Cardiff and Bristol locations too.
