Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to work for a consultancy in the Dams, Reservoirs and Hydraulic Structures discipline. The discipline working closely with UK and international companies to manage and develop their reservoir portfolio. This role is based in Bristol with additional locations available such as Birmingham, Cardiff, Warrington, Derby and other main UK towns. The role offers flexible working.
Job Description:
This role will involve successfully planning, designing and enabling works that ensure public safety and acceptability and optimise the use of commercial and natural resources, this role presents the opportunity to help deliver our client's growing dams & reservoirs workload in the UK and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of tasks and projects from inception to handover, meeting quality, time and budget requirements.
- Delivering dams and reservoirs activities for key local and national clients, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of strong relationships leading to new and repeat business.
- Contributing to successful proposals that meet client needs and lead to technically and commercially successful work.
- Support the discipline lead in developing the client's service lines and technical capability and assisting with delivering business development targets.
- Inspiring and mentoring colleagues in developing their technical knowledge and understanding.
Requirements
-Recently Chartered Engineer, or working towards Chartered status, with a career focus in the fields of dam and reservoir engineering.
- Demonstrating a solid base of technical experience in one or more of the disciplines of hydraulic, geotechnical engineering or retaining structures, as applied to the management and design of dams and reservoirs and their associated
hydraulic structures.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and guidance documents, and an appreciation of current developments.
- Excellent, client focused, report writing skills.
- Ability to identify and employ innovation and leading-edge technologies to meet client needs.
- Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
- A valid UK driving licence.
