Job description

Our client is a well known water management company, they currently have a requirement for a Distribution Technician - Water to join them in Kent. The salary for this role is £24,000 - £31,000.

Job Description:

Here’s your chance to have impact in your community. You’ll bring your ability to solve problems to exceed customer expectations. Whether that’s engaging customers during appointments or attending to emergency scenarios affecting water supply; you’ll show you remain focused and productive under pressure to resolve customer water supply issues.

Knowledge of the water industry or domestic plumbing would be useful but certainly isn’t essential. They provide all the training required to do a great job. What’s really important is having the customer focus that will help with their mission to be ‘the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for’.

As a distribution technician, you can be sure that no two days are ever the same. You could be completing inspections for new builds or existing properties, isolating water mains for maintenance, cleansing the water network to keep their distribution channels healthy or supervising repairs. You’ll ensure their water distribution network continually meets their high standards in terms of service, safety and water quality, as few things are more important than reliably clean running water.

Ideally, you’ll be local to Kent or close to the county boarder to assist customers throughout their Kent supply network. They will provide a company vehicle, you’ll just need to have a clean driver’s licence. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week on a varying rota between the hours of 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. As they provide an essential service; you’ll sometimes be on standby for when some customers need assistance outside of normal hours and at weekends. In return, you’ll receive additional standby allowance payment. You’ll also have access to your rotas and schedule in advance so that you can plan ahead.

This is a great opportunity for experienced technicians, new entrants or somewhere in between. Whatever level of experience you join with; you’ll get to learn and put into practice what you’ve learnt. They offer a clear pay progression structure that enables you to increase your earnings from £24,458 up to £31,524 per annum.
