Job description

Our client who are a water company now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer, to join their Capital Delivery department on a permanent basis to lead their established Infrastructure Design team and continue to drive improvements into our processes. You will play a key role leading a team working on a wide range of Infrastructure projects ensuring technical designs & specifications are delivered to the required Safety and Quality standards.  

 

 

About the role  

Lead a team of design engineers to deliver a comprehensive design programme.  

Managing the interfaces between internal and external stakeholders at all stages of the design process to coordinate the preferred technical solution.  

Undertake the CDM role of a Principle Designer reviewing, and mitigating through the design process potential delivery and operational risks.  

Appraisal of feasibility and construction design prior to hand over for delivery.  

Manage work flow and coordination of designs undertaken by 3rd party design teams.  

Develop and implement the use of innovative technology and techniques during the design phase to meet the Company ODI’s.  

Report on team output against the set key deliverables on a monthly basis.  

 

What You'll Need  

A full driving license.  

Educated to BSc/BEng/MSc/Meng in Civil/Envl engineering, chartered or working towards.  

Excellent report writing skills and have a working knowledge of CDM regulations.  

Competent across the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, and AutoCAD.  

Certified in IOSH managing safely/APM or PMQ.  

Experience in leading teams to deliver a multitude of projects and resolution of technical solutions.
