Job description

This role is for one of the biggest UK consultancies. They are currently looking for a Principal/Associate Engineer with experience of Fish Passes and Hydraulic Structures to join their growing team on a permanent basis to support the delivery of numerous projects all across the UK and internationally. This role is located in their Epsom site with opportunities for flexible working.  

 

Some of the main responsibilities for this role include:  

- Leading the successful delivery of tasks and projects from inception to handover, meeting quality, time and budget requirements.  

- Overseeing design activities for key local clients, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of strong relationships leading to new and repeat business.  

- Generating successful proposals that meet client needs and lead to technically and commercially successful work.  

- Leading in developing their service lines and technical capability, delivering business development targets.  

- Inspiring and mentoring colleagues in developing their technical knowledge and understanding.

Requirements

- Chartered with an established industry profile in fish pass design with the ability to oversee the work of others and achieve right-first-time results.  

- Strong technical experience in hydraulic and /or structural design as applied to the management and design of fish passes and their associated hydraulic structures, with knowledge of relevant codes, standards and guidance documents, and an appreciation of current developments.  

- Comprehensive understanding of current best practice in fish passage solutions.  

- Track record of leading the delivery of successful projects.  

- Excellent, client focused, writing skills.  

- Ability to identify and employ innovation and leading-edge technologies to meet client needs.  

- Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
