Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a consultancy in the Hydraulic Modelling discipline working closely with UK and international clients to manage and develop their reservoir portfolio.
The successful candidate will join a team of modellers and engineers, playing a key role in delivering schemes for a range of Clients including Water Companies, Local Authorities, developers with the potential to get involved with international projects. Their aim is to help their clients adapt to a changing world in a sustainable and technologically innovative manner, promoting nature-based solutions that reduce human impact while improving their urban environments. This role will be based in the office closest to you, office locations - London, Epsom, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Peterborough, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
The Role:
- The Asset Planning team carries out a range of projects in the clean and wastewater sector, including drainage network improvement schemes to relieve flooding of their communities and reduce storm overflows to their rivers and seas.
- This typically involves undertaking feasibility studies/projects using computer modelling, analysis to support operational and environmental recommendations or other interventions.
- This role will involve working on feasibility studies, computer analysis and engineering design, completion of technical tasks as appropriate to complete the works, site visits and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other professional bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Development of sewer system models to investigate deficiencies and generation of outline solutions.
- Development of 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
- Analysis of sewerage related operational data and hydraulic model root cause analysis.
- Support development of technical reports and other project deliverables.
- Undertake site asset surveys for physical and condition assessments.
- Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments.
