Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Core Valley Lines project in Wales. Our Rail client is looking for a Telecoms Project Engineer on a contract basis. The role is located in South Wales so therefore would suit someone living locally.
Some of the key accountabilities:
- Manage team of engineer/ technician to ensure all design are completed within set time frame and meet all the required engineering assurance.
- Chair design review IDC/IDR and manage the process.
- Liaise with RAM / Sponsor / Delivery team to ensure scope of works are clearly identify and best value for money.
- Work with Development team to review remits/ plan ahead of the work bank.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of project governance, reporting and control structures, with issues, risks and decisions escalated through
Requirements
Experience/Qualifications Required:
• Experience or reference GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway) or FTN (Fixed Telecoms Network). Alternatively experience working on Re-signalling projects as its likely they would have interfaced with Telecoms on such programmes.
• Experience of planning and manage Telecom projects throughout the complete project lifecycle using Network Rail’s GRIP and PACE delivery methodologies
• Previously been responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and championing the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision. Undertake safety tours for all on site works.
