Job description

Our client is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors to join their established team in Cardiff. In this role, you will contribute to both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services within a collaborative and inclusive environment.  

 

Key Responsibilities  

- Providing commercial management and cost assurance services on infrastructure projects alongside integrated teams.  

- Gathering, analyzing, and reporting cost data, addressing any inconsistencies, errors, or omissions as necessary.  

- Conducting measurements and preparing bills of quantities in alignment with sector-specific measurement standards (e.g., CESMM, MMHW, RMM) and developing detailed preamble notes, codifying work items, and aligning them with cost breakdown structures.  

- Preparing estimates and comprehensive cost reports.  

- Assisting in the production of tender documents and supporting the tendering process.  

- Attending client meetings, presenting findings, gathering feedback, and recommending improvements.

Requirements

- Proven experience in commercial management, cost assurance, measurement, and estimating on infrastructure projects.  

- Familiarity with various procurement routes and forms of contract.  

- Practical experience with NEC3/4 contract forms.  

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

- Experience of working on Infrastructure projects in Rail, Energy, Water and Highways  

- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize tasks.  

- Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough, methodical approach.  

- Strong team-working skills and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.  

 

Qualifications and Experience  

- Ideally, candidates will hold a relevant degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent), with a commitment to pursuing professional membership (e.g., RICS or CICES) considered advantageous.  

- Relevant experience in a similar role is essential.
