Job description

Our Client is a top rail contractor, they provide design and project management delivery using their in-house resources to deliver refurbishment and renewals projects. They are currently seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leeds.  

 

The main responsibilities for this role include:  

• Liaise with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and relevant Contracts Manager at all stages of the contract works.  

• Evaluate and report contract commercial performance and financial recovery.  

• Prepare and submit contract documents in accordance with contractual entitlement, following appropriate measures to secure commercial / financial recovery.  

• Prepare and submit cost monitors to Project Delivery Team and monitor site performance on a weekly basis.  

• Assess interim applications and authorise payments.  

• Negotiate Final Account settlement in accordance with company procedures.  

• Assist the Project Delivery Team in the preparation and valuation of Change Requests for submission to the client in accordance with the Main Contract provisions.  

• Maintain input to management accounts, supply chain database and information systems in accordance with company procedures.  

• Administer all Subcontract accounts ensuring compliance with the agreed terms and conditions of Subcontract.  

• Organise, attend and record start-up / progress meetings with all Subcontractors and key suppliers ensuring that deliverables conform to the requirements of the Main Contract and specification in conjunction with the relevant Contracts Manager.  

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.

Requirements

• 2/3 years’ experience working within a contracting environment (rail experience is preferred but not essential)  

• Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised  

• NEC Contract Awareness
