Job description

Our Client is an expert in railway, civil engineering, high voltage power, signalling and telecoms. They are currently seeking an Electrician located in Bournemouth.  

 

Some of the main responsibilities for this role include:  

- Understand and ensure compliance with the company health & safety, quality and environmental policies, Principal Contractors Licence, operational, quality and environmental procedures  

- Adhere to company and industry health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.  

- Perform electrical installation works to high quality standards and in compliance with applicable company, industry and legislative standards.  

- Ensure those working under their control understand and comply with company and site specific health, safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures, industry and legislative standards.  

- Ensuring all site paperwork is briefed by the Site Supervisor and signed by the Electrician  

- In conjunction with the Site Supervisor ensure that all PPE, tools and other materials are available prior to the start of works.  

- Advise the Site Supervisor of all safety related accidents & incidents, ensuring that appropriate reporting and recording action is taken at the time of the accident or incident on site.  

- Other reasonable related Electrical tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor  

- Health, safety, quality and environmental responsibilities

Requirements

- Experience in the railway Substation electrical engineering environment.  

- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal  

- Knowledge of Network Rail Rules and Regulations, as applicable to the project.  

- Manual Handling  

- Knowledge & understanding of risk assessment processes and techniques  

 

Minimum qualifications, training, certification:  

- ECS Approved Electrician  

- Full clean Drivers licence  

- City & Guilds BS7671 18th Edition Regulations 2018  

- Electrical First Aid  

- Personal Track Safety (PTS AC) (PTS DCCR)  

 

Desirable:  

- City & Guilds 2391-10 Level 3 - Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
