Job description
This contract with our Defence/Nuclear client is for a Project Manager of 5+ years who has delivered construction projects within the Government framework. The contract is for 18 Months based in Reading area (Aldermaston/ Blacknest/ Burghfield), 2-3 days per week on site, occasional remote working - however at time of deliveries and on site works the PM should be on site.
Assignment Background
Project Manager for Modular Building Project
• Building is a metal framed, metal floored modular construct.
• Once built up it will hold up to 120 people, 39 units, over 3 floors.
• From inside it will not appear to be a modular building.
• Project Managing from groundwork up.
Key Accountabilities:
• Deliver assigned projects in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality.
• Lead, coach and develop a team at a local level to deliver team and personal objectives safely and securely to meet their operational plans.
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage projects with focus on Governance (compliance and reporting).
• Management of project resources (people, money).
• Lead the planning of the task/project.
• Manage work as defined in the Work Authorisation Document (WAD).
• Lead, support and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
• Lead, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
Requirements
Top 3 Essential requirements:
1. Direct Project Manager experience 5+ years
2. Construction project experience
3. Contracts experience
Other Essential Requirements:
• Sole UK National
• Project Manager experience 5+ years
• Contracts experience is critical
• Strong stakeholder management skills/People interaction skills
Desirable:
• CCS Framework experience is highly desirable
• NEC 4 experience
• Formal Project Manager qualification is good to have but experience is more important. APM/Prince 2 etc…
• Some background working in a nuclear background or on a licensed site would be advantageous.
