Job description
This contract with our Nuclear client is for a Production Technician (Operations) for 24 months based in Dungeness A Site Romney Marsh 4 days onsite. The pay rate to candidate is PAYE : £14.73 - £17.20 per hour, LTD : £145.42 - £165.59 per day, UMB : £19.81 - £23.13 per hour.
Responsibilities:
• Carries out core operational duties within his/her own level of demonstrated competence.
• Being a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) on various plant items as required by the Site Licence.
• Carries out operational tasks within scope and competence and to assist with fault investigations.
• Carries out all Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) and Radioactive Substances Act (RSA) surveys to approved and established procedures. (Post-defueling sites must be Health Physics (HP) Monitor Level 5).
• Provides technical support to current and future project design and implementation.
• The post holder may be required to carry out identified roles as necessary, for example site security support.
• The post holder will be required to fulfil a role in the Site Emergency Scheme.
• The post holder may be required to be a classified worker as specified in the IRRs.
• As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.
• Comply with the Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality on Site.
• Assist in the training and development of team members.

• Respiratory equipment (3-hour session x2 times a day)

• Removing pipework / pumps / valves

• Industrial environment
• Highly regulated industry
• Ability to follow instruction.
• Dexterous
• Mechanically biased
• Aware of H&S rules and regs
You will also have these Qualifications/Skills:
• City guilds level 2
The client covers the cost of the training for Candidates for Triple Bar. Without the completed course record, the candidate will not be granted site access and their start date will have to be moved. Candidate is not required to complete the training again if they already have a valid certificate in place. The Client should have access to the certificate, or the Candidate should provide the copy.
