Job description
This contract with central government client is for D365 Technical Architect for 7 months. The role is primarily remote with office visits up to 2 days/fortnight (Usually London, but Birmingham a possibility).
D365 Technical Architect. Provides technical leadership and architectural design. Responsible for the design and build of technical architecture. Undertake structured analysis of technical issues, translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution; be consulted about design and provide design patterns; identify deeper issues that need fixing; look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Speak on behalf of technical teams and facilitate relationships with indirect stakeholders. Understand how governance works. Take responsibility for the assurance of parts of a service. Make decisions characterised by managed levels of risk and complexity. Resolve technical disputes between peers and indirect stakeholders. Apply strategy, using patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements. Design systems characterised by managed levels of risk, manageable business, and technical complexity. Understand trends and practices outside your team and how these will impact your work.
Key Relationships:
1. Represent Platform & Infrastructure within project or business improvement activities, providing clear advice and guidance within areas of expertise.
2. Build relationships with colleagues to foster collaborative working and knowledge transfers.
3. Building relationships with suppliers, vendors and partners and subject matter expert.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
1. Development and maintenance of architectural roadmaps and technical visions for current and future operating capabilities.
2. Contributing to organisational Enterprise Architecture methodologies and frameworks, ensuring necessary standards are met.
3. Design, implementation and support of platform and infrastructure services across primarily Azure Cloud and also traditional data centres, ensuring best practice is utilised to support software development.
4. Working across multidisciplinary teams within the organisation to contribute and deliver services.
5. Pro-active identification of issues and implementation of improvements to technical services and processes.
6. Ownership of escalated incidents and requests to resolution including prioritisation of tasks for best outcomes.
7. Knowledge sharing with colleagues both within team and wider organisation.
8. Adheres to and ensures implementation of security controls within managed technology systems and services.
9. Involvement in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and remediation of platform & infrastructure systems, including team rota of Mon to Fri 0800 - 1800.
10. Coaching and mentoring other team members to foster collaboration and development.
Requirements
- Must have Microsoft Dynamics (D365) Architecture Experience
Key skills and knowledge:
1. Expert level of experience with Azure Cloud and other enterprise technology stacks such as Microsoft server, Linux, servers, storage, networking, security, desktops, database technologies, O365, backup, monitoring etc.
2. Expert customer service and IT Service Management experience to effectively own problems from identification to successful resolution.
3. Strong experience with design and implementation of cloud platforms & services that support software development activities in delivery of safe and secure online services.
4. Has lateral thinking capability to dissect a problem to its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes. Able to troubleshoot, identify and resolve problems across different technology areas.
5. • Degree level education and/or appropriate professional membership or technical qualifications.
• Agile certification/awareness (desirable).
• Technical specialism certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle etc. (desirable).
• TOGAF 9.x (desirable).
• ITIL certification/experiences (desirable).
