Job description

Our client is a Utilities contractor looking to hire Site Managers across the UK including the South West region, the right candidate will have a UK driving license and have no issues working on multiple sites and travelling away from home when necessary. You will be working on a variety of projects involving heavy civils, solar farms and substations.  

 

Duties:  

- Plan upcoming work, procure subcontractors, and place orders for long lead in materials.  

- Chair weekly site meetings to ensure your site team, (Site Manager/Foreman, Site Engineer) understand what is to be done by when & what can be improved upon & learned from.  

- Update contract programme weekly with project planner, highlighting delays and potential claims to commercial team. Integrate subcontractor work.  

- Monitor and report on financial performance. Highlight commercial risks, and develop solutions to maximize profit.  

- Raise Early Warnings, and attend risk reduction meetings.  

- To be responsible for achieving assigned KPI’s in relation to Health & Safety, Quality and Budget hours.  

- To be a company ambassador whilst being responsible for maintaining and upholding the reputation and image of the client.  

- To comply with the organisations policies, procedures and company handbook.  

- To uphold the reputation of the company both within and external to the direct working environment.  

- To maintain positive and professional relationships with work colleagues and the customer at all times.

Requirements

- Recent heavy civils experience  

- Groundworks experience  

- Health and safety awareness training (IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, BSC etc), e.g. manual handling, (preferred qualified to minimum of Appointed Person), lifting operations (banksman/slinger), working at height, CDM, confined spaces etc.  

- First Aid at Work Certificate  

- Management of Temporary Works (Awareness)  

- Strong and practical safety ethos  

- Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites  

- Full UK driving license
