Job description

Our client is a is a leading provider of sustainable and efficient transport solutions. They currently have an opportunity for a Senior Control Design Engineer to join their Internationally recognised Tier 1 company based in Hebburn, near Newcastle Upon Tyne. The right candidate will be working on a large-scale project supporting the upgrade of existing infrastructure using our client’s portfolio of control systems to maintain sustainability of network.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

• Develop and design schematics for control systems

• Attend internal and external design reviews delivering technical input

• Be responsible for technical issues/support on assigned projects

• Lead control scheme team and deliver training support to new team members/colleagues

• Liase with design engineers to provide complete solutions

• Checking of design specifications and design intent documents

Requirements

Essential Experience:

• National Grid delivery, control, automation experience

• HNC/HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or experience in Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry

Desired Experience:

• Experience in a similar role involving scheme design of mid to large scale SCADA systems, automation systems, control systems and communication infrastructure

• Circuit Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams and General Arrangement drawings on control and protection systems knowledge.
