Job description

Our client is one of the UK’s leading independent infrastructure and property consultancies, specialising in environment, planning and sustainability. They are currently seeking an Associate Director based anywhere in the UK, with hybrid working options available.  

 

The Associate Director within their Infrastructure Projects and Programmes Division will be responsible for oversight of a portfolio of projects, opportunities and pursuits.  

 

You will have previous management experience of projects and business development in your area of expertise. You will have experience within the energy sector, including DCOs, EIAs and/or other planning and consent processes. Ideally, you will have other infrastructure project experience, but not essential. You will contribute to sector strategies and plans, notably their energy strategy, aligned with the company's strategic ambitions.  

 

In this role you will be responsible for:  

- Managing customers with consistency and curate long-term relationships.  

- Manage and deliver key projects to company's standard.  

- Develop new business through existing and new relationships, seeking new opportunities.  

- Contribute to infrastructure strategies, notably energy sector.  

- Contribute to and implement business plans to facilitate strategies.  

- Possess experience and knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies and a passion for project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction is achieved on time and within budget.  

- Ensure cross functional collaboration on projects and prospective opportunities.  

- The right candidate may also have people management responsibilities, including performance management, team resilience and resourcing to meet project commitments.  

- Operate as a technical specialist to a high technical quality.  

- Provide technical mentoring and support to less experienced colleagues.  

- Ensure that, in the execution of the business plan, all legislative and internal management systems protocols are met, including Health and Safety, company's Policies,  

- Sustainability Goals and BCorp objectives.  

- Consultancy requires knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies. They expect all candidates to have a passion for project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction is achieved on time and within budget.

Requirements

Ideally you will have the following:  

- Proven experience in a team leadership role.  

- Educated to degree level or equivalent.  

- 10+ years plus relevant industry experience.  

- Chartered professional (or working towards this).  

- A good general knowledge of the environmental and sustainability market and an in-depth knowledge of energy sector.
