Job description

This contract with our defence client is for a Laser Directed Energy Weapons Safety Professional for 6 months in Salisbury or Portsmouth 3 days onsite. The pay rate to candidate is Umbrella £678.06, PAYE 504.68.  

 

As a Laser Directed Energy Weapons Safety Professional, your main responsibilities will be:  

• To lead the client's Laser safety experts in developing the safety case and assuring compliance with all relevant regulations and regulatory bodies.  

• To pro-actively contribute to safety working group panels, reviewing contractor provided safety documentation and delivering specific OME safety and environmental documents.  

• To provide technical advice on platforms and systems primarily within the weapons do-main, ensuring that the potential and impact of current and future technological advances are communicated, allowing their customers to make informed decisions.  

• Working with colleagues across the organisation, industry, military customers and inter-national partners.  

• Report writing and Stakeholder Management.

Requirements

• Experience of Laser Weapons systems (possibly gained by undertaking activities within an Industrial or Defence environment).  

• Understanding of probabilistic risk assessment.  

• Knowledge of Safety critical software and modelling standards.  

• Maritime and Land combat systems experience.  

• Experience of OSRP (OME Safety Review Panel Process).  

• Have a Scientific, Numerical or Engineering background.  

• Experience of low and high-power Lasers.
