Job description

This contract with our Defence client is for a Diversity and Inclusion Manager for 5 months based in Bristol on a Hybrid basis (3 days on site). The pay rate to candidate is £550 Umbrella, £409.36 PAYE.  

 

As a Diversity and Inclusion Manager your main responsibilities will be:  

Assessment and Recommendations:  

• Conduct an assessment of the current workplace environment, policies, and practices to identify potential barriers for employees with disabilities.  

• Provide a detailed report with recommendations on reasonable adjustments needed to ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010.  

 

Policy Development:  

• Develop a comprehensive reasonable adjustments policy tailored to your business needs and in line with UK legislation.  

• Create guidelines and procedures for employees and managers on requesting and implementing reasonable adjustments.  

 

Training and Awareness:  

• Develop training sessions for employees and managers on reasonable adjustments, disability awareness, and inclusivity in the workplace.  

• Create communication materials to raise awareness about the importance of reasonable adjustments and disability inclusivity.  

 

Implementation Support:  

• Work with relevant stakeholders to implement recommended reasonable adjustments effectively.  

• Provide ongoing support and guidance to managers and employees throughout the adjustment process.  

 

Monitoring and Evaluation:  

• Establish a system to monitor the effectiveness of implemented reasonable adjustments.  

• Conduct regular evaluations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.  

 

Documentation and Reporting:  

• Establish a detailed records and systems of all reasonable adjustments made within the organisation.  

• Prepare regular reports on the progress and impact of the reasonable adjustments program.  

 

Compliance Assurance:  

• Ensure that all reasonable adjustments are made in compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant regulations.  

• Stay updated on legal requirements and best practices related to reasonable adjustments in the UK.

Requirements

Essential:  

• Vast DE&I experience  

• Experience in 'Reasonable Adjustments'  

• I.T literate  

• Experience and knowledge of the Equality Act  

 

Desirable:  

• Qualified to CIPD level 5  

• Public Sector experience
