Job description

This contract with our defence client is for a Caseworker for 20 weeks based in London , Hybrid / 1 – 3 days per week onsite, minimum, and as required for Business needs.  

 

Responsibilities:  

• Scrutinise and investigate requests for review and determine the appropriate response.  

• Managing and assessing cases in alignment with policy, operating procedures and guidance.  

• Communicate with applicants to obtain additional information/evidence that may affect the outcome of their review.  

• Organising and leading review panels.  

• Responding accurately to applicants to inform them of the outcome of their query.  

• Ensure the ARAP Reviews multiuser email is actioned in a timely manner.  

• Internal Liaison with respective teams such as Eligibility and Relocations Casework (including the LOTR team).  

• Internal stakeholder engagement, such as providing advice and support to Policy, Secretariat and Legal.  

• External, Other Government Departments (OGD) stakeholder engagement, such as cross-Whitehall ARAP working groups.  

• Provide SME advice to external agencies regarding the end-to-end process.  

• Delivering the ministry's parts of cross Whitehall Hall review policy for the ARAP scheme.  

• Understand updates to OGD policies that may influence ARAP reviews.  

• Represent the Review Team at internal management meetings.  

• Maintain accurate records of decisions and evidence to support those decisions.  

• Adhering to and ensuring that others are complying with the wider governance and data protection protocols.

Requirements

Top 3 Evaluation Criteria:  

1. Active SC Clearance (no restrictions) and a Sole UK National.  

2. Caseworker experience  

3. Microsoft Office 365 competent  

 

Minimum Requirement:  

• Sole UK National  

• Experience analysing information from multiple sources, with keen eye for attention to detail.  

• Delivering at pace – daily targets for cases  

• Good understanding of English, especially written.  

• Able to use Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PP, excel etc.)  

- Majority of communications are via Outlook.  

• Previous Casework Experience  

• Problem solving  

• Stakeholder Management  

- Front facing and wider team.  

• Problem solving skills.  

• Can work to targets.  

• Understands Data Protection  

• Empathy  

- Can come across graphic/disturbing material and stories. Need to discuss up front with candidates to ensure they are resilient and ok with this.  

• Need to be able to stick to policy. To make decisions based on policy, not on emotion.  

• Ideally need candidates who are in similar roles.  

 

Desirable  

• Home Office/Police/Immigration background  

• Experience dealing with complex cases.
