Temporary works Design Engineer

Our client a world class leader within their chosen fields of Water, Rail, Highways and Civil Engineering and an investor in people with offices locations across the UK . Due to further growth our client is looking for experienced Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their team in London. This role has a salary of £30,000 - £40,000, and will include Company car/car allowance, Company pension contribution and Life Assurance.  

Job Description:  

The design engineer will deliver structural designs in the forms of reports and drawings for various infrastructure projects to facilitate permanent works construction. The project includes Storm relief consisting of drop shaft and sprayed concrete lining (SCL)  

Duties will include:  

- Designing formworks, propping systems and ancillary structures for construction  

- Preparing drawings, visualizations to present construction sequences  

- Preparing calculation reports to support structural suitability

Essential Experience:  

- Strong experience in steel and timber design to EN standards  

- AutoCAD literate  

- Able to work, analyse structure independently  

- Able to carry out structural checks based on first principles  

- Able to determine the required information to carry out structural analysis and assessment  

- Liaise with site engineers and sub-agents to ensure most efficient construction method is used  

Desirable:  

- AecoSIM/Microstation experience  

- MathCAD experience  

- Robot Structures experience
