Job description
Our client is a water and civil engineering contractor with many years’ experience delivering world class projects across the UK and they are currently looking to recruit a Site Fabricator / Installer located in Walsall.
Job Description:
The Site Fabricator is responsible for on-site installation. Working from drawings supplied by the office team and working to company process. Complete audits as requested and contribute to the annual stock check. Working as part of the fabrications operations team and providing full operational support to all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
On Site Operations
- Attend site following instruction from the Fabrication Ops Manager
- Complete on-site installations and fabrication work as specified on controlled documents supplied, and within tolerances specified on drawings / tolerances (installation inspection and test plan)
- Maintain good communication with all site personnel during operations, reporting any potential issues or delays
Other Duties
- Provide the Fabrication Workshop with support during busy periods
Commercial
- Produce timesheets daily detailing all working hours and relevant job numbers
- Maintain accurate stock levels by utilising stock only when specified on material lists
- Report stock issues and highlight where customer orders could potentially be delayed
- Complete stock audits as requested, feeding back to the Quality Team
- Support the business during annual stock checks
- Identify and log any variations on daily time sheets
Health and Safety
- Complete tasks in accordance with the depot risk assessments, notify Management of any potential noncompliance
- Report accidents and near misses using the correct methods
- Ensure the correct PPE is used in the depot at all times
- Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards etc.
Quality
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Team Leaders and Management
- Work to agreed timescales updating the office team on progress
- Maintain good communication with the office team and Management at all times
Requirements
- Experience in medium to heavy fabrications and welding procedures – NVQ or equivalent
- Site work and installation experience
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to work well within a team, offering support to others
- CSCS Card
- Qualified to use plasma/oxy cutting equipment
- Driving licence
Desirable
- Forklift licence
- Experience operating an overhead crane
