Job description
Our client is a leading provider of water infrastructure solutions, specializing in specific areas: , water treatment, pipelines, distribution systems. Their commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence has made them a trusted partner in the industry.
They are currently seeking a skilled Estimator to join their dynamic team and contribute to the success of water-related projects across Wales/Western areas.
Role Overview
- As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects in the water sector. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, assess project requirements, and ensure all estimates are aligned with industry standards and company objectives.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Research and evaluate materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop and maintain a database of unit rates and historical project costs.
- Prepare tender and bid documentation for submission to clients.
- Identify risks and opportunities in the estimation process and propose value-engineering solutions.
- Attend site visits and client meetings to gain a full understanding of project scope and challenges.
- Monitor and update estimates to reflect design changes, project developments, and market conditions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the water industry or infrastructure sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction and water-related systems, including pipelines, treatment plants, and distribution networks.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Benchmark Estimating Software, CostX, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work under deadlines.
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
