Job description
Our client is a water and civil engineering contractor with many years’ experience delivering world class projects across the UK and they are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager located in London.
Key Responsibilities:
General management:
- Lead efficiently a large team of agents, surveyors, engineers and site support functions Produce financial forecast, monitoring and controlling project costs
- Administer the project in line with the Contract
- Review monthly CVR reports ahead of submission to Contracts Manager
- Deliver projects from design phase to completion including all handover documentation Review budget, progress, resources and forward planning
- Ensure the contract is defined and understood by the team
- Chair weekly site planning meetings and ensure production of accurate records and plans Attain good relationship with the customer and supply chain
- Develop, update and optimize construction programmes with support of planning team Review construction methods developing engineering solutions where necessary
- Review and procurement schedules for plant and materials in line with company procedures Review and manage Sub-Contractors in line with their programme
- Ensure detailed site records are completed
- Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo Ensure comprehensive estimates for additional work outside target costs Review submission of new tenders
Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ):
- Set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of best HSEQ practices, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations
- Ensure production and implementation of HSEQ documentation including CPP, RAMS, ITP Allocate HSEQ responsibilities and duties for site personnel, check understanding and organize training as necessary
- Ensure that all subcontractors follow our clients procedures and processes Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with required regulatory standards
Key measures & targets:
- The clients monthly and weekly reporting timescales are met Contract timescales are met
- Adherence to Companies Objectives Ensure 3 Pillar KPI measures are met
Key relationships:
- Customers and stakeholders Subcontractors and suppliers
- Site team members and support departments
Requirements
The successful candidate will have experience on managing Heavy Civil or Tunnelling projects within high regulated environments, also the candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential
Minimum 2 yrs experience managing Tunneling/SCL projects in UK Proficient in NEC3 Opt A & C and change management Experienced in Design Management
Programme & Risk Management
Production of CVR, incl cost control, forecasting and value assessment Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
SMSTS
Excellent communication, people management skills, ability to influence and mentor Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance

Primavera P6 software CSCS managers card
NEBOSH Construction Certificate
Absolute Must
Working with contractors
Tunnelling
SCL
Commercial and Contractual experience.
