Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a European project management company specializing in commercial and residential buildings, shopping centers, airports, and road construction. Their team brings extensive expertise in managing commercial and residential skyscrapers, infrastructure projects, value engineering, and comprehensive project management. With more than 10 years of experience, they have established strong, lasting relationships with their clients by delivering exceptional service through a team of highly qualified professionals, serving not only Europe and the UK but also other international markets.
They are now seeking a Planning Engineer to work on a major Data Centre project based in Kent.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Engage with the delivery team and key stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Manage comprehensive analysis of project scope, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and potential risks.
- Monitor project progress, tracking key milestones, and providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
- Identify potential delays, conflicts, or resource constraints and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular progress meetings, coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Evaluate and improve planning processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support during project audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with project schedules and contractual obligations.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to project planning.
- Understand the contractual arrangements of the programme and ensure that they are not compromised due to planning issues and providing scenario plans for mitigation.
- Providing support and advice to site, construction, and delivery teams.
- Attend project meetings, present project information and update of the programme.
Requirements
- Experience of Project Management methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of NEC3
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficient in using planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, construction processes, and engineering methodologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
