Job description

Due to their business expansion, our construction client currently has a new opportunity for a P6 Planner.  

As a P6 Planner, your role will be instrumental in steering the development and execution of substation construction schemes, applying your expertise to both pre-construction and construction phases. Your knack for navigating project complexities will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality results.  

 

Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:  

- Work with the commercial team and construction managers to establish, update and maintain project schedules and programmes.  

- Liaise with the business and client teams (design, consents, engineering, construction and commercial), subcontractors, suppliers on matters relating to planning and programming.  

- Assess resource requirements based on current and forecast programme workloads and provide regular resource reports to the management team.  

- Prepare reports on programme and progress, attending both internal and external planning and operational meetings.

Requirements

- That you have a detailed and forward-thinking approach to problem solving, excellent organisational skills and that you consistently complete tasks 'right first time' and in keeping with project protocols.  

- Experience with developing schemes from pre-construction and into construction, with/or for a distribution network operation (DNO) is essential, along with a good knowledge of NEC 3 contracts.  

- Extensive experience of using Primavera P6 to an advanced level and a good knowledge of MS Project, including the cost and resource loading of programmes.  

- An understanding of NRWSA (New Roads and Street Works Act) regulations would be advantageous.
